Earth Day Wellness Challenge: 3•6•5 — Move for the Planet

Earth Day is here. It’s the day we celebrate the planet that gives us everything: oxygen, water, earth, fire, and wind. It’s also a perfect moment to take action. Let’s strengthen our bodies and minds while caring for the environment. Ready to move for the planet?

The 3•6•5 Earth Day Wellness Challenge

This challenge is simple. Pick one or more activities and complete it today. The numbers 3 and 65 are the key. Here’s what you can do:

  • PLANK — Hold for 3 minutes and 65 seconds

  • JUMPING JACKS — Do for 3 minutes and 65 seconds

  • WALK — Cover 3 miles and 65 feet

  • WALK — Cover 3 kilometers and 65 meters

  • SWIM — Swim 3 miles and 65 feet

  • BIKE — Bike 3 miles and 65 feet

If your environment allows, try biking, walking, or swimming to work. It’s a fun way to combine fitness with eco-friendly travel.

Why Move for the Planet?

Moving your body is good for you. It boosts your heart health, builds strength, and clears your mind. But when you choose activities that connect you with nature, you also help the planet. Walking or biking instead of driving cuts down pollution. Swimming in a clean lake or pool reminds you why clean water matters.

This challenge is about more than fitness. It’s about respect for the earth. Every step, pedal, or stroke counts. It’s a small way to give back to the planet that supports us.

How to Make the Most of the Challenge

Start by choosing an activity that fits your lifestyle and environment. If you live near water, swimming might be perfect. If you have safe bike paths, grab your bike. If you prefer low-impact exercise, try the plank or walking.

Set a timer or use a fitness tracker to keep track of your time or distance. Break the activity into smaller chunks if needed. For example, plank for 1minute, rest, then repeat until you reach 3 minutes and 65 seconds.

Remember to warm up before and cool down after. Stretch your muscles gently. Drink water. Listen to your body.

Using the Right Gear to Support Your Challenge

Choosing the right gear can make your challenge easier and more enjoyable. For example, a quality fitness tracker helps you monitor your progress. The Fitbit Charge 5 is a great choice. It tracks heart rate, steps, distance, and even stress levels. You can check it out here.

If you prefer biking, a reliable bike like the Trek FX 3 Disc offers comfort and performance for city rides or trails. It’s lightweight and built for speed and stability. Learn more here.

For swimming, a pair of Speedo Vanquisher 2.0 Goggles provides clear vision and a snug fit. They help you focus on your strokes without distractions. Check them out here.

Using the right tools supports your body and keeps you motivated. It’s a smart way to stay on track.

Tips to Stay Motivated Every Day

Consistency is key. Here are some tips to keep you moving:

  • Set a daily reminder to complete your chosen activity.

  • Find a workout buddy or join a group for support.

  • Mix activities to keep things fresh.

  • Celebrate small wins. Every minute counts.

  • Connect with nature. Notice the fresh air, the sounds, the colors.

Remember, this is about progress, not perfection. Each day you move, you build strength and help the planet.

How This Challenge Fits into a Holistic Wellness Plan
